Self-Employed EP

Self-Employed EP

Singapore Self-Employed EP refers to a programme where applicants register a Singapore company and serve as a shareholder, director, or senior management, then apply to the Singapore Ministry of Manpower for an Employment Pass (EP) or EntrePass. This programme allows applicants to independently operate a business in Singapore and contribute to the local economy.

Applicants must meet certain criteria, including possessing relevant professional skills and experience, registering a company in Singapore, and being responsible for the company's operations and development. Once applicants obtain an EP, they can legally work and reside in Singapore. When the company's operations reach a certain scale and meet the requirements, applicants can submit a Permanent Resident (PR) application to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA). Applicants and their families can convert from EP to PR status. This immigration pathway typically requires applicants to have certain financial and entrepreneurial capabilities, and to invest or establish a business locally to contribute to economic development.

Key Advantages of the Self-Employed EP Programme:

  • Family Immigration – Spouses and children can directly apply for Dependant's Pass, and parents can apply for Long-Term Visit Pass.
  • Overseas Identity Planning – Clients can immigrate to Singapore by converting from Employment Pass (EP) to Permanent Resident (PR) status.
  • Corporate Tax Planning – Singapore's corporate income tax is capped at 17%, with new companies enjoying significant tax incentives.
  • Investment Opportunities – Through the Self-Employed EP programme, applicants can start a business or invest in Singapore, participate in local economic development, and gain potential business opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Main applicant must have extensive work or entrepreneurial experience.
  • At least a bachelor's degree, with a verification report from CHSI (China Higher Education Student Information) required.
  • Must establish a company in Singapore and serve as a shareholder-director or senior management.
  • Must meet the COMPASS points-based system set by the Ministry of Manpower.
